Capping

This methodology is applied to reduce the level to formation level & is otherwise known as “reduced level” or “reduced dig” Arising’s are removed from site and the remaining contaminated ground is “capped” using a root barrier membrane. This should be secured to adjacent structures or overlap so as to contain the Japanese Knotweed and eliminate the risk of Japanese Knotweed re-generating from this area. As with Burial methods the locations and excavation depths must be recorded in a Knotweed management plan.
